We were over the moon to welcome our guests back last weekend. Life has seemed very quiet without them and although the weather hasn’t entirely played ball the wisps of smoke curling from the chimneys is a sure sign they’re cosy. The past five months have been challenging for us all and sometime away from home to relax is something that many of us are looking forward to.
With that in mind, many people have concerns about the cleanliness of the accommodation they would like to book. Cleanliness and comfort have always been our top priorities and we have redoubled our efforts to ensure that our guests feel comfortable and safe whilst staying with us. They often tell us that the little things we do really make a difference and we have carefully considered each to ensure we are minimising the possible risk of Covid-19 transmission without materially altering the nature of a stay with us. Our cleaning protocols have been bolstered and include the sanitisation of all high touch areas in accordance with guidances from the Government and Professional Association of Self Caterers. We are also providing 70% alcohol hand sanitisers and EN14476 sanitisation wipes (this is the EU test to evaluate the virucidal activity of chemical disinfectants intended for use in the medical area) for our guests to use.
In recognition of the steps we have taken to minimise the risk of transmission throughout our cottages we have achieved both the AA Covid Confident and Visit England’s Good to Go accreditations.
Post lockdown much of Cornwall is the same and will be familiar, but slightly different. Most restaurants and pubs are taking reservations only, the same as gardens and attractions. You will definitely need to be organised if you are looking to visit places or eat out. Some of the best of Cornwall though can be enjoyed entirely for free, when you fancy. The miles of coast path, coves and beaches are still as beautiful and as open as they ever were. Many of the places we personally enjoy can be found in our new e-welcome pack. I hope the interactive map feature detailing these will prove very useful for our guests. This is a great example of how we have taken the opportunity to think about not only being Covid safe but how we can improve what we do even more.
So not entirely back to normal, we hope in many respects better!
