Stylish self-catering in an idyllic rural location
It’s easy to reach all things Cornish from this quiet spot sandwiched between the north and south coasts, which guests say is perfectly located for exploring Cornwall.
Two stylish Cornish barn conversions, each sleeping two, surrounded by open fields down a long private lane.
Benallack has a special atmosphere; perhaps it’s the medieval chapel which was here many moons ago, the roman field patterns at the bottom of the garden, the nearby ancient woodland or the view from ‘The Bench’ (the perfect stroll from the house). Either way we think it’s a special place. There are two cottages that we ourselves would love to stay in. Both are individually furnished and include super comfortable beds with crisp white linen, a woodburning stove, powerful showers, well equipped kitchens and a stylish and cosy ambience.

The Dairy sleeps two in stylish comfort, with slate and wood floors, pale walls, pictures, rugs and lamps. Laid out on two levels, it has a kitchen, living and dining area, a hall and a cloakroom on the ground floor, with a galleried landing and a large, light bedroom and white-tiled shower room upstairs.
The Bullpen sleeps two in a stunning single storey barn conversion: pale walls and wood floors, rugs and pictures, lamps, cushions and throws.
A large sitting room and bedroom with a luxurious separate shower room adjoining the bedroom area and a charming kitchen, with direct access to the garden overlooking rolling Cornish countryside where you can sit in the morning sun with a cup of tea and take in the views.
What a lovely place to stay, so well thought out in everything provided for our comfort. The cinnamon buns were lovely, such a lovely comfy bed, I was reluctant to get out of it!! The log burner was well used. We were really impressed in the kitchen even providing a full weeks worth of dishwasher tablets. I’m sure we will be back to enjoy The Dairy again, fabulous, thank you both.

Thank you Vicky and Darran for a wonderful stay in The Dairy. Beautifully appointed – felt very at home, great location for seeing the sights of Cornwall. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather which was an added bonus, really enjoyed the veggies.

Regrettably we have come to the end of our 6 day stay in this idyllic eco-friendly cottage. As we entered The Dairy on our arrival, we were welcomed by gentle strains of classical music. And thank you Vicky for the delicious muffins. Your attention to detail is apparent throughout the cottage and we were most comfortable. The fresh flower arrangements throughout the cottage also contributed to the overall ambience. We seriously contemplated extending our stay once we have moved in. Benallack Barn as a property is fantastic steeped in Cornish history. We were so taken by the formal parkland garden, vegetable garden and summerhouse at the lake, and enjoyed their peace and tranquillity – a haven to return to after a day out. We look forward to a return visit in the not to distant future.

Beautiful, peaceful location. Lovely home of great character in an ideal setting with exceptional gardens. Very high level of presentation, comfort, facility, furniture, fittings and accommodation. Charming, helpful hosts; bright, polite and happy children. Soft, sweet, pretty dog that loves a tickle. Could not ask for better or more, very sorry to leave. Hopeful to return.
